Current Vacancies
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced English Teacher to join Coombswood School.
School is an independent day special school for children and young people with SEMH needs.   The school is part of Melrose Education limited.
We are looking for an outstanding educational practitioner with relevant special educational needs experience. You must be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, clear communication skills and can focus upon the needs of all of our learners. Excellent teaching, communication and organisational skills are essential, and you must be able to demonstrate the ability to inspire and motivate our learners in sometimes challenging situations. Ideally the successful applicant will have a relevant Teaching qualification, or willing to complete ECT programme.
Skills required:
- Leading the English Curriculum
- Expert knowledge of the National Curriculum, particularly English curriculum
- Understanding of high-quality teaching and learning strategies in the subject, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve
- Awareness of local and national organisations that can provide support with delivering the subject
- Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
- Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
- Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
- Good IT skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others
- Knowledge of the SEND code of Practice
