Hawthorn Class Explore Digital Art at Coombswood School

Hawthorn Class at Coombswood School have been diving into the exciting world of digital creativity, experimenting with painting tools and stamps to create their very own artwork using computer software.

The learners began by exploring virtual paintbrushes, experimenting with colours, textures, and brush sizes. They discovered how layering and blending on screen can mimic traditional painting, while also enjoying the flexibility to undo mistakes and try out new ideas instantly.

Next, the children explored the stamp tool, adding shapes, patterns, and images to their work. From cars and animals to abstract designs, pupils used stamps to build imaginative and unique digital scenes, combining different elements in creative ways.

This project has encouraged not only artistic expression but also the development of important digital skills. Learners practised navigating creative software, using tools with precision, and thinking about how technology can enhance traditional art techniques.

Principal Snita Verma said:

“We are delighted to see Hawthorn Class embracing digital art with such enthusiasm and creativity. Projects like this allow learners to combine technology with artistic expression, building confidence, technical skills, and imaginative thinking all at once.”

The digital art project has been a fantastic way for learners to explore new ways of expressing themselves while gaining valuable 21st-century skills.
